The Winter Haven Hospital West Expansion was a multiple phase project involving renovation of the existing facility and new construction of a three level addition. The first phase involved the construction of a new temporary entrance to the hospital. The second phase of the project involved closing and demolishing the existing main entrance and replacing the eight-story west elevation of the existing hospital’s exterior envelope. The remaining phases of the project involved the new addition including construction of a new grand lobby, a wellness center, conference area, new financial counseling offices, outpatient exam rooms, six new state-of-the-art operating rooms, 29 post anesthesia care unit (PACU) beds, 20 prep/recovery beds for endoscopy, a new endoscopy suite, a new pharmacy, and a new ultrasound area.
