Universal Forming performed a concrete turnkey scope of work for this Five‐story, 150,000 square foot structure. Our scope of work included all formwork and shoring, structural excavation and backfill, layout, operated electric tower crane, concrete pumping, furnish and place/finish concrete, furnish and install reinforcing steel and post‐tensioning, and permanent safety. This was a challenging site as there was no laydown or staging areas. The site itself was sloping and a precast garage structure was being constructed 30 feet from our site. This necessitated close coordination between Universal and the General Contractor, Jack Jennings and Sons. Massive amounts of backfill material and precast deliveries had to be coordinated with the concurrent construction of the structure. The structure was topped out on schedule in February 2010. One highlight of our work was the high floor finishes we achieved, often hitting FF numbers in excess of 70, and FL numbers of 30.
