Recently recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the Top 3 Best Cancer Hospitals in South Florida, the Miami Cancer Institute is revolutionizing cancer care for patients across the country. The campus includes a five-story, 352,000 sf clinical cancer center, a five-story, 94,000 sf research facility, a six-barrel linear accelerator, and a 15,000 sf central energy plant. UFI utilized a precast joist and soffit beam system at all elevated slabs for the cancer building, research facility, and the central energy plant. The cancer building and the research facility feature an architectural sloping roof that partially cantilevers over 80’-0” to the ground level below.

The project also includes South Florida’s first Proton Therapy building, one of only a few in the nation. The Proton Therapy building was constructed with over 15,000 cy of concrete and is made up of mass concrete walls and slabs, some of which are over 10’-0” thick.
